LEGAL

What are the legalities involved in this process?
Our Fairy Godmother works with some of the most highly respected and well-versed attorneys in the field of alternative reproduction. We will assist in the selection of an attorney for intended parents and egg donors.

MEDICAL

How does the medical process of egg donation work?
Our Fairy Godmother works with renowned physicians in the field of assisted reproduction. Our staff works directly with the fertility clinics to coordinate and facilitate the process of egg donation, including full medical screening of the donor.

FINANCIAL

What are donors compensated?
The majority of our egg donors receive a compensation of $5,000 - $7500 for their services. We also work with donors that have higher compensation rates, often times a result of having provided successful donations for other intended parents.

What are the agency fees?
Our professional services are billed at a flat rate of $5000 for a solo cycle and $3000 if you choose to do a shared cycle with another recipient from the same fertility clinic. You do not need to find someone to share with you, we coordinate this directly with your clinic. Please note that shared cycles may take longer to match depending on the type of donor you are looking for and how many egg donor patients the clinic refers to our agency. Our fee includes egg donor matching, and gives intended parents direct access to our highly experienced staff, who work with you to facilitate the legal, medical, psychological, and financial processes.

What are the additional costs involved?
There are multiple factors that can increase or decrease the total cost for the intended parents which depend on the fees of the individual fertility clinics and are not part of our fee schedule. These should be discussed and determined with the clinic directly.

Our Fairy Godmother also acts as the financial manager for the intended parents. We will administer a trust account through which the egg donation process is funded for the donor. We understand the expenses associated with egg donation and are dedicated to containing the costs of this process. Whenever possible, we have established preferred rates from our group of legal and medical affiliates. These are savings that are handed down directly to our intended parents simply by using our egg donor services.

TIMELINE

What is the process like, and how long does it take?

After browsing our online donor database, intended parents select potential egg donors, and retain Our Fairy Godmother services. The next step is to narrow the number of potential donors, finally choosing one donor with whom to proceed. The process can take a matter of days or weeks, depending on each individual case.

Once they have made your choice, you will be emailed an Egg Donor Agreement. Once the agreement has been signed and returned to us and we have received the intended parents retainer and funds and their Agency Recipient Agreement we will then contact their clinic informing them of their donor choice and sending them your donor complete profile and previous medical records and one photo.

The donor is then comprehensively screened medically by their fertility clinic and we undertake the psychological screening, a process that usually takes two to four weeks. Once this is complete, the intended parents enter into a contract with the egg donor and we have our lawyer intiate the legal processes. This process takes another two weeks on average. The donor will begin her medications, a process lasting approximately five weeks, culminating in egg retrieval. The embryos are then ready for transfer to a surrogate or the intended mother or surrogate, or the embryos may be frozen for use at a later time.

CASE MANAGEMENT

What kind of guidance does Our Fairy Godmother provide?
Based on an almost two decades of experience, Our Fairy Godmother manages each case personally guiding you through the entire process from beginning to end. We handle all the donor's needs, including medical, physical and psychological. Our Fairy Godmother will also assist the donor as a liaison to the medical doctor.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES

What kind of testing and support does Our Fairy Godmother offer donors and future parents?
All donors undergo psychological testing prior to the medical cycle beginning. We conduct the EQI and Beck Depression Inventory and if necessary or if requested, donors may be required to complete the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI); the most widely used objective, in-depth and revealing measure of personality. We may also perform the Myers-Briggs Personality Testing on each donor to give you an even further added insight into her personality traits. Additional psychological services are offered for intended parents upon request.
